Target Identification
We establish a strong scientific foundation for your drug discovery programme by systematically evaluating the biological relevance, therapeutic potential, and tractability of your target. Our target identification approach combines target biology, expression profiling, functional validation, and disease-relevant model systems to generate robust evidence before progressing into screening and lead discovery.
We assess target expression and distribution across relevant immune cell populations and tissue models, helping determine whether the target is present at the right levels and in the right biological context. Where appropriate, we evaluate target modulation using loss-of-function, gain-of-function, blocking, or activation approaches to understand its role in disease-associated pathways and immune responses.
Our studies can also incorporate primary human cells, engineered cell systems, co-culture models, and relevant tissue models to establish functional relevance and improve translational confidence. By combining expression data with functional and mechanistic evidence, we help distinguish biologically meaningful targets from those with limited therapeutic potential.
The resulting data package provides a clear understanding of target expression, biological function, mechanism of action, pathway involvement, and potential therapeutic relevance, enabling informed decisions on target prioritisation and progression into hit identification.
