A healthy skin barrier is central to moisture retention, sensitivity, and resilience. Our platform combines human tissue models with high-resolution imaging to objectively quantify barrier function and hydration biology.
Models Used :
3D reconstructed human epidermis (RHE) and human ex vivo skin, providing physiologically relevant test systems for meaningful results.

- Barrier Integrity — Expression of Filaggrin, Loricrin, and Claudin proteins assessed by high-end immunohistochemistry, providing direct structural evidence of barrier competence.
- Hydration Markers — Spatial distribution of Aquaporin-3 and Hyaluronic Acid quantified to evaluate moisture-channel activity and water retention capacity.
- Imaging Platforms — AxioScan Z1 for whole-slide scanning and ImageXpress Micro Confocal for high-resolution tissue analysis, both operated in-house.
- Quantification — Multiparametric image analysis delivers objective, numerical data on barrier strength and moisture retention suitable for claims substantiation.
